About Maroon Snail
What is Maroon Snail about?
I am a maker and creator, just like you are or can be! I took up crochet in September 2021 and haven't stopped since (see examples of my work in the photo gallery). For me it is a therapy and I love the sense of achievement on completing a project. I want to share the joy of the craft and the "my blog" section of this website is where I share details of my work to help others.
I hope that the entirety of the beginners section of my blog, when followed in date order from "absolute beginners" to "confident beginners", will enable anyone who wants to to make a start on this craft. Start at the very beginning, it's a very good place to start. 😺
Please get in touch if you are doing any exciting projects or have crochet news to share. When the world settles down I hope to help people understand the art of crochet for themselves through classes. I usually have an annual sale in early May to help fund this site and raise some money for charities. I hope to do more events in 2023 and onwards 🙂
Why "Maroon Snail"?
My favourite colour is blue. However, Maroon Snail is the best memorable anagram of my full name.
